Wines

A view of the land through the vine.

A collection built on curiosity, on respect for those who make wine, and on the search for bottles that tell something more than their origin.

Ávila and the Sierra de Gredos hold a special place, but BARRO's gaze reaches further.

BARRO was born of a wine bar. The cellar holds more than a thousand references, arranged by territory beneath the house, and Carlos personally champions the selection at every service.

The list opens closest to home: old vines of Garnacha and Albillo Real, bush-trained on granite soils. From there it ranges across styles and territories to the great vintages. Every imported bottle states its carbon footprint, offset through reforestation.

In Navalacruz, in the Alberche valley, the house is recovering a family vineyard planted around 1907, from which it makes a wine of its own, as yet unlabelled.
